GREENWICH PLACE CONDOMINIUM
This 103-apartment rental building near the World Trade Center site underwent an extensive upgrade prior to conversion to condominium ownership. We redesigned the enlarged lobby, added two new lines of windows with views over a new urban plaza, and coordinated the move of its cooling tower from a courtyard to the roof. The lobby features water falling from a channel that is raised above the building entrance, into a small pool with a serpentine shape that echoes the concierge’s desk. Bands of glass mosaic tiles separate large stone slabs on the main wall and maple millwork, to tie the lobby together.
