In New York City, complex zoning and building codes govern multi-family construction and the conversion of commercial and industrial buildings to multi-family use. Peter Budeiri Associates has used its knowledge of these constraints to move beyond them, creating attractive, functional, and exciting residences that maximize available space and light.

We have been involved in the conversion to multi-family residential use of six Lower Manhattan commercial and industrial buildings.

Our experience with multi-family conversions began with our first project, the conversion of Brooklyn’s 22,000-square-foot Monique factory to a ten-unit coop. There we made creative use of the extra height available in its industrial spaces to provide abundant light throughout.
